About this position
Post-Doctoral Scholar in Immunology at the University of Kentucky, Department of Veterinary Science, in Lexington, Kentucky, United States.
This full-time postdoctoral position is part of an interdisciplinary research program studying cellular immune responses to bacterial pathogens and the molecular mechanisms of host–pathogen interactions. The project uses cellular immunology, mammalian cell biology, advanced 2D and 3D cell culture, primary cell isolation, epithelial biology, immune cell co-culture models, immunological assays, high-resolution imaging, and next-generation sequencing / omics approaches.
Research interests and keywords include immunology, microbiology, cell biology, bioinformatics, transcriptomic analysis, and host–pathogen interactions. The successful candidate will design and lead independent and collaborative projects, analyze transcriptomic datasets, prepare manuscripts, present findings, contribute to grant proposals, and mentor trainees.
Eligibility highlights: Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Stem Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. A strong first-author publication record is required. Experience with flow cytometry, cytokine profiling, ELISA, immunofluorescence/confocal microscopy, Western blotting, immune signaling analysis, RNA isolation, sequencing library preparation, and bioinformatics/omics is strongly encouraged.
Funding: salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
