About this position
Postdoctoral Research Opportunity at Kennesaw State University in additive manufacturing, materials science, mechanical engineering, and robotic welding. The position is hosted by Sainand Jadhav and focuses on advancing next-generation metallic materials and additive manufacturing technologies for aerospace, energy, defense, biomedical, and transportation applications.
Research themes include Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) of metallic and multi-material structures, multi-material additive manufacturing and functionally graded materials, process–microstructure–property relationships in additively manufactured metals, process optimization and monitoring, and materials development for extreme environments and structural applications. The postdoc will collaborate on an interdisciplinary program spanning advanced additive manufacturing, computational modeling, and advanced materials characterization.
This is a funded postdoctoral position. The Office of Research will cover salary and benefits for up to 18 months and provide professional development funding for conference travel. The postdoc will also have access to structured career development programming, including workshops or seminars on grant writing, research ethics, manuscript preparation, job search strategies, and academic or industry pathways.
Eligibility: applicants should have completed or be nearing completion of a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Welding Engineering. Experience in metal additive manufacturing, welding processes, and materials characterization is desirable.
Application: interested candidates should complete the linked form by 2026-08-10. Shortlisted candidates will then be contacted to continue through the formal KSU application process.
