About this position
Gdańsk University of Technology is advertising a postdoctoral researcher position in the Brain & Mind Electrophysiology lab for the ElectroDNA project, an international collaboration focused on decoding human memory-related brain activity from electrophysiological discharges. The project combines neuroscience, neurophysiology, and biomedical engineering to study intracranial recordings from epilepsy patients and to develop knowledge that may support future neurotechnology and personalized stimulation therapies.
The research involves analysis of intracranial EEG, LFP, and possibly single-unit spiking signals, with work on theta and ripple discharges, memory tasks, and implantable device technologies. The lab also mentions augmented reality-based cognitive tasks and collaboration with teams in Poland and the Czech Republic.
Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in neuroscience and/or biomedical engineering, have 1–4 years of research experience, be less than 7 years from PhD award, and have a PhD awarded outside Gdańsk University of Technology or at least one year of external research placement. Strong English is required, along with programming skills in Python and/or MatLab and experience with stereo EEG or DBS recordings from human patients.
Funding: the position is full-time for two years with an annual salary of 140,000 PLN gross/inclusive of taxes, plus institutional employee benefits and conference presentation opportunities.
How to apply: send a cover letter, CV, and degree diplomas by email to admin@brainmindlab.com before 28 August 2026. Optional reference letters from academic mentors/supervisors may also be included. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online in early September 2026, with the position starting around 1 October 2026.
