The University of Nicosia is inviting applications for eight new PhD positions in the English-taught Doctoral Programme in Education Sciences for the Spring 2027 intake. This is a research-intensive doctoral opportunity for candidates interested in advancing knowledge in education sciences and contributing to innovation in teaching, learning, and educational practice. The programme offers structured supervision, advanced research methods training, and a strong academic environment for independent research. Research areas span a wide range of contemporary topics, including AI in education , digital education , STEM/STEAM education , sustainability and environmental education , literacy and learning , arts and drama education , educational leadership , inclusive education , and special educational needs . Applicants can align their proposal with one of the listed supervisors and indicative topics. Supervisors include faculty working on artificial intelligence and assessment, science education and argumentation, visual arts education, literature and literary studies, interdisciplinary learning, school leadership and AI integration, inclusive classrooms and learning disabilities, AI-driven personalized learning ecosystems, drama/theatre education, Greek as a second/foreign language, and reading intervention programmes. Eligibility highlights: a Master’s degree from an accredited university, proof of English proficiency (IELTS 7, TOEFL, GCSE O Level B, or an English-medium degree), an initial research proposal of up to 5,000 words, two recommendation letters, CV, transcripts, certified degree copies, and evidence of educational research engagement as an advantage.
