PhD opportunity at University Hospital RWTH Aachen in Germany within CRC/SFB 1739 , focusing on periodontal-immune interactions and mechanically induced periodontal ligament remodelling . The project is supervised by Dr. ing. Jitske Jansen and Prof. Horst Fischer . The research combines stem cell-derived human in vitro models , hydrogels , and advanced bioreactors to study tissue remodelling and immune crosstalk. The successful candidate will identify novel targets from omics datasets and validate them using genetic/pharmacological perturbation, with single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics used to build a translational data atlas. Eligibility highlights: an MSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field , plus excellent English. The post is a PhD position (First Stage Researcher R1), temporary and part-time, with TV-L E13, 65% funding and DFG-funded doctoral training through IRTG .
