Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mitochondrial Genetics and Germline Transmission of mtDNA Variants
FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship opportunity at the Department of Genetics and Evolution, Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), São Carlos, Brazil, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge (UK).
The project is titled
“Bilateral BBSRC-FAPESP: Molecular mechanisms that modulate germline transmission of mtDNA variants”
and is coordinated by Prof. Marcos R. Chiaratti, with collaboration from Profs. Patrick Chinnery and Michal Minczuk.

, with research activities including generation of genetically modified murine models, germ and embryonic cell culture, molecular cloning, confocal microscopy, next-generation sequencing, and bioinformatics.
Eligible applicants must have completed their doctorate less than seven years ago and should have experience in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, embryology, or bioinformatics. Full-time dedication to the project is required. Experience with mouse manipulation, oocyte and embryo culture, embryonic stem cells, microscopy, molecular cloning, bioinformatics, and advanced English will be considered advantages.
The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of
R$ 12,570.00
for a minimum of
