PhD Opportunity in Microbial Biotechnology, Genome Mining, and Natural Product Drug Discovery
PhD opportunity in the Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, under
Assistant Professor Rajaguru Arivuselvam
at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research.
The research group works at the intersection of
microbial biotechnology
,
secondary metabolites from microorganisms
,
genome mining
,
biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs)
,
antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
,
natural product-based drug discovery
,
molecular biology
,
microbiology
,
bioinformatics
, and
in silico drug discovery
. The lab also uses analytical platforms such as HPLC, LC–MS/MS, GC–MS, UV–Visible Spectroscopy, FTIR, and NMR.
This is a research-intensive PhD opening for highly motivated candidates interested in integrating wet-lab microbiology with computational biology to discover novel bioactive molecules, study microbial biosynthetic pathways, and develop therapeutic strategies.
Preferred academic backgrounds include
M.Pharm
(Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, or related disciplines) and
M.Sc.
in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, or equivalent. Prior experience in microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or natural product research is preferred.
Interested candidates should email their CV and a brief statement of research interest to
