Ghent University invites applications for a full-time doctoral fellow position in the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering. The position is part of a larger research project with five PhD vacancies, focusing on materials science, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computational mechanics, and chemical engineering. The research aims to advance knowledge in structural engineering, composites, and textile engineering, leveraging the department’s expertise and resources.

The position starts on September 1st, 2026 at the earliest.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (preferably) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Computational Mechanics, or an equivalent field. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with companies.
