About this position

PhD opportunity in High Dimensional Panel Data Analysis at Monash University Malaysia (Subang Jaya, Malaysia).

This project focuses on high-dimensional panel data, statistical inference, data analysis, data science, econometrics, machine learning, and related applications in pollution, meteorology, climate change, macroeconomics, and political economics. The project aims to study how high-dimensional data arising from complex systems affects inference and to help address problems linked to climate change and structural transformation, including issues related to the middle income trap.

Supervision: Main supervisor is Professor Erniel Barrios (Monash University), with associate supervisors Dr Lee How Chinh and Dr Shin Zhu Sim.

Funding: Successful applicants will be awarded the Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship (GRES), which includes a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend for up to 3 years and 6 months.

Eligibility: Applicants should hold at least First Class Honours (H1) or an equivalent qualification recognised by Monash University Malaysia, and must meet the English language requirements.
