About this position
PhD opportunity in Applied Causal Machine Learning at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Faculty of Science and Technology (REALTEK), Department of Data Science. Eligibility highlights: a Master’s degree or equivalent in statistics, machine learning, computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, cybernetics, economics, data science, or a related field; strong grades (B or better for both average and thesis in the Norwegian system); proficiency in written and oral English; solid mathematics; familiarity with machine learning and deep learning; programming experience in Python or Julia; strong analytical and quantitative skills; motivation and personal suitability. Experience with causality, advanced Bayesian statistics, optimization, graph theory, modern deep learning, or relevant domain knowledge is considered an advantage.
Funding: salaried PhD Research Fellow position, position code 1017, with salary NOK 550,800 per year; higher salary may be considered for exceptionally well qualified candidates. Admission to the PhD program is required before appointment.
