MAX IV Laboratory and the DanMAX beamline in Lund, Sweden, are recruiting postdoctoral researchers for the BatMAX consortium, a collaborative battery research initiative involving MAX IV, Chalmers University of Technology, Lund University, Uppsala University, and Aarhus University.

Both roles are centered on battery research, especially solid-state batteries and Na-ion batteries, and involve cross-beamline collaboration through the BatMAX hub and the MAX IV Battery Matrix. The work includes experimental development, beamline operation, user support, data analysis, and scientific publishing.

Required background includes a PhD in chemistry, physics, engineering, or a closely related subject; proven experience with X-ray imaging/diffraction methods such as µCT, nanoCT, TXM, XRD-CT, or similar; programming skills such as Python; and strong English, communication, and teamwork skills. Helpful experience includes synchrotron or neutron experiments, X-ray optics, electrochemistry, battery materials, reconstruction methods, and user-facility support.

The positions are full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral appointments for 2 to 3 years and are funded through the COMPEL national strategic initiative. The application deadline is 2026-08-31.

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
